Yes it has been a while...

I thought I would have about two hours to catch all of you up on our new lives in NY but I it ends up that I only have about 30 minutes. So hold on to your hats and I'll do my best to do a quick update of the past couple of months. I promise to include pics this time...

Here are a few pictures from our move to New York. We visited we family and friends before we made it all the way up here.
We drove A TON! So here are some pics from the road too.

.

Here is our new home! It is small but very warm and cozy. It is one of our favorite places we have every lived. I had to include the picture of the "fireplace." I was looking forward to warming my toes up in-front of our fireplace but come to find out it is completley fake!! Yes, it looks very real but believe me it is not. We took it down and placed it in our garage to make room

My job at the zoo! I loved working at the zoo. The kids and animals were great! At the end of summer I got hired to do another camp... one for kids with special needs. It was one of the best camps of the whole summer! Here are some pics from the zoo:

OH yeah, I made my first strawberry-rubarb pie ever! I made the crust and all! It was so delicious. We took it over to Jim and Tara's for Tara's birthday and had no problem eating the whole thing.

We have had a great time in Syracuse so far. I hope to have more time to write about all the amazing things God has been doing up here. Check out some more pics of our adventures around Syracuse and hanging out with our friends.

We went to the NY State Fair- it was awesome! The food was amazing! We started off the afternoon with the $1 loaded potatoes, FANTASTIC! Then we made our way over for a second course...$0.25 milk. It was the most delicious milk I have ever tasted, we each had a glass of regular and a glass of chocolate. Oh and in the Dairy Building there was this sculpture completly made out of butter. For our third course we made went to the Pizza Frie bakery. This is the best fried dough you have ever tasted. We walked around for a while to let the food settle then finally found the fried Oreos and fried Baby Ruth's, which we devoured with some more chocolate milk (two more glasses each). We were full but not to the point of sickness (I know... hard to believe after eating all of the above.

This past weekend was Labor Day and the first time since we have been up here that Brandon and I got two days off together!! We had a great time going on a hike to beautiful waterfall called Chittenango Falls! We hiked down to the bottom and played in the creek for a while before trying to make the hike back up (very tiring but I made it). We also stopped by an amazing sunflower field in the mountains to take some pictures before making our way back to the villiage to have dinner with the Murphy family.

I went to FBA the other week and visited. It was fun to see everyone.

Hey Alaina! How are you guys doing up there? Did you know that I am teaching Marine Biology this year! It has been a fun class. I will be going back to complete the first half of the NOAA workshop, and actually this weekend me and Lori Kantner will be going on a teacher only marine lab visit! Should be a lot of fun.
Nancy Malik asked for your email, she is planning on teaching her kids about mangroves and wanted to get in touch with you. Her email is Nmalik@fbalions.org.
